# How to Enable App Embed

> The App Embed is a required one-time setup step. Without it, your installed sections will not appear on your storefront. This guide walks you through enabling it in the Shopify Theme Editor in under two minutes.

The App Embed is the most important step after installing Iconic Sections. Until it is enabled, none of your installed sections will appear on your storefront — even after a successful installation. This is a one-time setup that takes under two minutes.

## **What Is an App Embed?**

In Shopify, an App Embed is a small piece of code that apps inject into your theme to load their styles and functionality. For Iconic Sections, the App Embed loads the styles and scripts that make your installed sections display and behave correctly on your store.

Think of it as a light switch — without flipping it on, the sections are installed, but the power is off.

## **How to Enable the App Embed**

1. In your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store** > **Themes**.

2. Find your active theme and click **Customize**.

3. In the Theme Editor, look at the left sidebar and click the **puzzle piece icon** (App Embeds).

4. In the App Embeds list, find **Iconic Section** by Iconic Sections.

5. Click the toggle to turn it **ON** — the toggle should turn blue or green when active.

6. Click **Save** at the top of the Theme Editor.

Your App Embed is now enabled. Sections you install will appear on your storefront as soon as you add them to a page in the Theme Editor.

  If you switch to a different theme later, you will need to enable the App Embed again on the new theme. The setting is stored per theme, not per store.

<Tip>
  The Iconic Sections dashboard shows a warning banner if your App Embed is not yet enabled. If you see this banner after installing sections, follow the steps above to resolve it.

## **After Enabling**

Once the App Embed is saved, no further action is needed to make it work. You do not need to re-enable it every time you install a new section — one toggle, one save, and it applies to all sections you install on that theme.

If you want to confirm it is working, install a free section, add it to your homepage in the Theme Editor, preview your store, and you should see it appear.
