# Troubleshooting Unexpected Issues

> If something is not working as expected in Iconic Sections, work through this general troubleshooting checklist — refresh, check the App Embed, verify your theme, clear cache, and try reinstalling — before contacting support.

If something is not working as expected in Iconic Sections, start here. Most issues are resolved by working through the checklist below before contacting support. These steps cover the most common root causes for unexpected behavior.

## **Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Checklist**

### **Step 1: Refresh the App**

Close and reopen the Iconic Sections app in your Shopify admin. A simple refresh resolves many temporary display issues and loading errors within the app interface.

### **Step 2: Confirm the App Embed Is Enabled**

Go to **Online Store > Themes > Customize > App Embeds** and confirm the **Iconic Section** toggle is ON and that the theme has been saved after enabling it. This is the most common cause of section display problems.

### **Step 3: Confirm the Section Is on the Published Theme**

Make sure the section is installed on the theme that is currently **published** (live) on your store. Sections installed on an unpublished draft or development theme will not appear to your store visitors.

To check: in Shopify admin > Online Store > Themes, the active theme is labeled **Current theme**. Go to My Library and confirm the section is installed there.

### **Step 4: Clear Your Browser Cache**

Your browser may be serving a cached version of your store that does not reflect the latest changes.

Hard-refresh your storefront: press **Ctrl+Shift+R** (Windows/Chrome) or **Cmd+Shift+R** (Mac). This forces the browser to load the page fresh from the server.

### **Step 5: Try a Different Browser**

If the issue is visible in the Theme Editor or app interface, open the app in a different browser (for example, switch from Chrome to Firefox or Safari) to rule out a browser-specific conflict. Private/incognito mode in the same browser can also help bypass cache and extension conflicts.

### **Step 6: Reinstall the Section**

If a specific section is behaving unexpectedly:

1. Go to **My Library**.

2. Uninstall the section from the affected theme.

3. Reinstall it from My Library.

4. Re-add it to the page in the Theme Editor and save.

A clean reinstall resolves many cases where a section's files became partially corrupted or out of sync during a previous installation.

## **If the Issue Persists: Contact Support**

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the Iconic Sections support team is ready to help:

* **Live chat:** Click the **chat icon** in the bottom corner of the Iconic Sections app to start a live chat session

* **Contact form:** [arhamwebworks.com/contact](https://arhamwebworks.com/contact/)

When contacting support, include the following to get a faster resolution:

* Your **store URL** (e.g., [yourstore.myshopify.com](http://yourstore.myshopify.com))

* The **section name** that is causing the issue

* A brief description of **what you expected to happen** and **what is actually happening**

* Any **error messages** you see (screenshots are helpful)

* The **theme name** you are using

## **Common Causes the Support Team Investigates**

Some issues are caused by factors outside the standard checklist:

* **Conflicting third-party apps** — other apps that modify theme files or inject scripts can occasionally interfere with sections. The support team can help identify conflicts.

* **Custom theme code** — if your theme has been modified by a developer, custom code may affect how sections render.

* **Browser extensions** — ad blockers or privacy extensions can sometimes block section scripts from loading. Disable extensions temporarily to test if this is the cause.
