How to Check for Updates
- In the Iconic Sections app, click My Library in the left sidebar.
- Go to the Sections tab.
- Look for sections marked with an “Update available” indicator — this appears as a badge or label on the section card.
How to Apply an Update
- In My Library > Sections, find the section with the update indicator.
- Click the Update button on that section card.
- A dropdown appears — select the theme you want to update the section on.
- Confirm the update.
If you have the same section installed on multiple themes, you need to update it on each theme separately.
What Happens to Your Customizations
Updating a section does not reset the content you have entered in the Theme Editor. Your text, images, colors, and layout settings are preserved through the update wherever possible.If you or a developer have made direct edits to a section’s theme files (the .liquid or .json files) rather than using the Theme Editor controls, those manual changes may be overwritten by an update. In that case, you will need to re-apply any custom file edits after updating.
